Meet the Team: Laura Pate

Laura Pate has been involved in working with nonprofits serving those with specific psychological needs since 1988.  For the last 22 years, Laura has been the Director of Operations for a nonprofit school and outdoor experiential education program that works specifically with youth and young adults living with learning and attentional challenges.  Prior to that point, Laura was Program Director with a wilderness therapy program for at-risk and adjudicated youth through the Department of Children and Families in the state of Connecticut.  She has also worked with a variety of other therapeutic and experiential education programs throughout the U.S

Laura earned her BS in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She then went on to earn a second BS from Appalachian State University and then her MS Education degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.  She is excited to be part of the Pearl Psychedelic Institute team and to contribute to the life-changing therapeutic treatments they are bringing to western North Carolina.

The Pearl Psychedelic Institute is a nonprofit that aims to bring psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy into mainstream practice through research, treatment, and training while reducing the barriers to patient access. 

The Pearl Psychedelic Institute has been designated as one of 10 sites in the United States that will be allowed to provide access to this investigational treatment. The Pearl Psychedelic Institute is the only clinic affiliated with this program currently operating in the Southeastern United States; and specifically strives to serve the rural areas of Western North Carolina.
